چکیده
This study aimed to observe the thickening of S-phase and Sα-phase various stainless steels subjected low-temperature direct current plasma nitriding using screen (S-DCPN). Austenitic steel SUS304, ferritic SUS430, duplex SUS329J4L were treated two different screens for comparison, namely, a Ni plate cold commercial (SPCC) screen. Plasma was performed at 673 K 300 min under 75% N2 + 25% H2 atmosphere 100 Pa pressure mixed gas. After treatment, samples examined X-ray diffraction (XRD) glow discharge optical emission spectrometry (GD-OES), their cross-sectional microstructure surface an electron probe micro analyzer (EPMA). Nitrided also Vickers hardness pitting corrosion tests. Examination SUS304 revealed its higher resistance when done with due excess nitrogen diffusion into sample presence than SPCC In SUS430 samples, not be observed. When used during nitriding, less observed, along enhanced used. upon screen, observed higher, which attributed

High Temperature Behavior of Dual Phase Steels
Dual phase steels with different martensite volume fraction and morphology were tensile tested at a temperature range of 25 to 5500C. Stress-strain curves of all steels showed serration flow at temperatures of 250 and 3500C, and smooth flow at the other temperatures. Both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased with increasing testing temperature up to about 450<sup...
متن کاملLow-Temperature Carburization of Austenitic Stainless Steels
LOW-TEMPERATURE CARBURIZATION is a gaseous carburization process performed at atmospheric pressure, at temperatures where the kinetics of substitutional diffusion are very slow. Low-temperature carburization hardens the surface of austenitic stainless steels through the diffusion of interstitial carbon, without the formation of carbides. The surface must be activated, by modification and remova...
متن کاملLow Temperature Plasma Nitriding of Inner Surfaces in Stainless Steel Mini-/Micro-Pipes and Nozzles
Metallic miniature products have been highlighted as mini-/micro-structural components working as a precise mechanism, in dispensing systems, and in medical operations. In particular, the essential mechanical parts such as pipes and nozzles have strength and hardness sufficient for ejecting viscous liquids, solders, and particles. A low-temperature plasma nitriding process was proposed as a sur...

متن کاملTransient liquid phase bonding of AISI 304L stainless steels with the austenitic and martensitic microstructures
In the present study, the effect of time and base metal microstructure on the Transient Liquid Phase (TLP) bonding of 304L stainless steel was studied. TLP was performed at 1050 0C for 5 and 60 minutes on the coarse grain austenitic and martensitic microstructure using BNi-2 interlayer. To prepare martensitic microstructure, as-received 304L was rolled at -15 0C up to 80% rolling reduction. TEM...
